What We Do

Support and empower students who make their communities a better place

Alisa's Angels awards scholarships and loans to graduating high school seniors who understand the importance of service to others. Alisa's Angels was founded in memory of Alisa, who believed it was important to take care of others "just 'cause it's what we were put on earth to do."

It’s not just a Scholarship, It’s a Community

Scholarship recipients become part of the Alisa’s Angels family, where they are empowered, encouraged and supported.

impact

Alisa's Angels has provided 51 scholarships and almost $60,000 in loans to youth who embody the ideal that giving back is important.

  • 100% of our scholarship recipients have graduated from college in an average of 4 1/2 years.
  • One third are the first in their family to attend college.
  • More than 85% are serving their community through volunteer work, social justice causes, or through their chosen profession.
  • Every Alisa's Angels who has graduated is employed.
a new chapter

We are expanding! The Board of Directors is thrilled to open the Alisa’s Angels scholarship opportunity to Colorado.

Through the generous support of donors in Colorado and around the country, 2 additional scholarships have been added for 2019. These will be awarded to graduating high school seniors from the Colorado Springs area. Details on eligibility may be found here.

We are excited about what the future holds as we look for ways to help even more deserving young people!

A different scholarship

Alisa’s Angels scholarship recipients have gone through a rigorous selection process. While  financial need and grades are considered, the most important factor is what they have done in service to others. Our recipients have given thousands of hours of their time to better their communities. Just a few examples:

- Started a nonprofit to build schools in Africa.
- Founded a grief support group for high school students who have lost parents.
- Started a nonprofit to address bullying in middle schools.
- Raised almost $100,000 for a children's hospital by riding a bicycle across the USA.
